Principal's Message
2022! This new calendar year has certainly started with its fair share of challenges. Something I have noticed over the past few months is the increase of signage in public spaces reminding people that abusive and threatening language and actions are not tolerated. That has given me reason to pause and reflect. These signs are "signs" or information being provided to us that something is out of balance. If you are like me you laughed when you read that sentence...OF COURSE things are out of balance! I have no control over the balance of the population or world, only myself. Thank goodness because that is a full time job in itself!
To do our part in bringing kindness to others we are focusing on ourselves here at NBJS and learning about our "windows of tolerance". There is so much to learn about this concept, but I will save that for another message. If you want to know more feel free to google it! Some professionals we look to here at NBJS to help us learn about our brains, optimal learning and our window of tolerance are: Kim Barthel, Bruce Perry, Dan Siegel and Ross Greene.
Breath, be kind to yourself, and others. We are all trudging this road of happy destiny together.
From the Traditional Territory of the White River First Nation,
In gratitude and kindness,
Heidi Warren
